9/11

The Introduction

Imagine you are in the world trade center. You just came to work and you start. Then you hear a loud hum. “What is that”, you think. You see an airplane. It is flying low. Too low! It hits the World Trade Center! You try to run but there is too much smoke and everything is falling. This did actually happen to a lot of people.

The Morning

On September 11, 2001, there were many people in the World Trade Center also known as the Twin Towers. Some worked there, some did not. There were 6,000-12,000 people in the towers. While people worked, a terrorist named Osama Bin Laden worked on a plan to destroy the Twin Towers. He had 93 men to help him. They hijacked planes then went for the twin towers!

The Terrorists

Osama Bin Laden was born on March 10, 1975. His birth place was Saudi Arabia. As a kid he went to school at Jeddah. He then married young like many Sadia Arabia men and women. Osama had 5 children. He led the whole attack on 9/11. He called his group al-Qaeda that focused on terrorism. He died by U.S. officials when he was shot in Pakistan. He was buried under the sea because nobody wanted his grave to be a symbol to followers.

The Attack

Once they flew all the way to the Twin Towers, and they crashed into them. In the north tower 2 planes crashed into it at 8:45 a.m. In the North tower, the plane crashed into the 80th floor. 1 plane crashed into the south tower at 9:03 a.m. There was a lot of smoke. Everything fell down such as books, shelves, and tables. A lot of people died and lots got injured and stuck, unable to escape before the whole tower fell. There were 110 floors and some people had to run to get to the exit. The elevators were not working, so they had to walk all the way down the stairs. There was a lot of smoke so they could barely see. Some people were more lucky than others because they were on the first or second floor. There were some people who were missing. It was a really big job for paramedics and firefighters since many people needed their help. 343 firefighters died and 8 EMS paramedics died in 911.

Some quotes are , “I may never know the answers to the questions that plagued me after 9/11. But I know if we lean on God and each other we will be guided to a better, brighter future”-Michael Hingson (A survivor) , “I still have the shoes I wore on that work day. The soles are melted and caked with ash. I keep them in a shoe box with the word DELIVERANCE all around it. They are kind of like my ark, a reminder of God's presence and the life I owe to them.”, Stanley Praimnath ( A survivor).
